”Fantasia G”「ファンタジア G(爺)」

“As I finally reached 80 years old, despite being an old man and a complete amateur, I developed a dream of creating large-scale music with a full orchestra.

Specifically, I dream of composing such a piece on a personal computer and then listening to it on a stereo system.

While some might dismiss this as a mere fantasy, it has become a tangible part of my reality.

The title of my composition, ‘Fantasia G,’ holds dual significance. First, it represents the key of the piece, G minor. Second, it pays homage to the concept of ‘Grandfather.’

Interestingly, the pronunciation of the letter ‘G’ [Dʒíː] in Japanese resembles the sound associated with an elderly man.

Admittedly, this endeavor may sound pretentious, but I’ve aimed to convey my life experiences and longevity through music.

After all, music transcends age—it serves as a powerful form of self-expression. Through ‘Fantasia G,’ I’ve channeled my imagination and creativity in a deeply personal way. I hope you find joy in experiencing it.

ついに80歳になった今、年老いた素人であるにもかかわらず、フルオーケストラによる大規模な音楽を作りたいという夢を抱くようになりました。

具体的には、パソコンでそのような作品を作曲し、ステレオシステムで聴くことを夢見ています。これを単なる幻想だと考える人もいるかもしれませんが、私にとっては現実の一部となっています。

私の作品のタイトル『ファンタジア G』には二重の意味があります。まず、作品の調性であるGマイナーを表しています。次に、『祖父』という概念への敬意を表しています。

興味深いことに、英語の文字『G』の発音 [Dʒíː] は、日本語で高齢者に関連する音に似ています。

この試みは気取っているように聞こえるかもしれませんが、私は音楽を通じて自分の人生経験と長寿を伝えようとしました。

結局のところ、音楽は年齢を超越し、強力な自己表現の手段となります。『ファンタジア G』を通じて、私は自分の想像力と創造性を深く個人的な方法で表現しました。皆さんがそれを楽しんでいただけることを願っています。」
