“New York After Dark”「日暮れてニューヨーク」

My first business trip to New York took place in the remarkable year of the 1970 Osaka Expo.
It was a time when the world was opening up in new and exciting ways.

As dusk settled over the bustling city, I found myself being guided by the company president to an exclusive members-only jazz club. The atmosphere inside was electric, filled with the soulful sounds of jazz and the clinking of glasses.

I became completely absorbed in the music and the drinks, each note and sip adding to the enchantment of the evening.

After returning to my hotel, I diligently finished writing my report, ensuring that every detail of the day’s meetings was accurately captured.

With a sense of accomplishment, I allowed myself a moment to unwind. Sitting by the window, I gazed out at the mesmerizing New York skyline, its glittering lights stretching endlessly into the night.
It felt surreal, as though I had stepped into a scene from a classic movie, with the city as my backdrop.

This memorable experience took place when I was in my mid-thirties, a time when life was filled with ambition and the thrill of new experiences.

初めてのニューヨーク出張は、1970年の大阪万博という特別な年に行われました。世界が新しい刺激的な方向へと開かれていく時期でした。

夕暮れが活気ある街に訪れる頃、取引先の社長に案内されて向かったのは、会員制のジャズクラブでした。クラブの中は魂に響くジャズの音色とグラスの音で満たされており、その雰囲気に完全に心を奪われました。音楽とドリンクの一つ一つが、夜の魅力を一層深めてくれました。

ホテルに戻り、その日の会議の詳細を漏らさず記録するためにレポートを書きあげました。達成感を感じながら、一息つくことにしました。

窓辺に座り、目の前に広がるニューヨークの夜景をぼんやりと眺めていると、そのきらめく光が果てしなく夜空に広がっていました。それはまるで、クラシック映画の一場面に自分が入り込んでしまったかのような、不思議で現実離れした感覚でした。

この忘れられない経験は、私が30代半ばという、野心に満ち、新しい経験に胸を躍らせていた時期の出来事でした。
